You could describe it as the fourth peak in the florist’s calendar, the week when schools break up for the summer holidays. Not content with an apple anymore, teachers are now inundated with gifts, many of them plants, which are inexpensive and a safe bet compared to chocolates and wine when you’re not sure if the teacher drinks or if they are on a diet!
