New Year’s Resolutions for Florists and Planning for the Year Ahead

Individual and business membership logos

Do you make a new year’s resolution? January is the month when thousands of us will make one or two resolutions and usually they are the same each year! Join a gym/lose weight/improve finances/have a dry January etc etc.

Unfortunately, by the end of January, a fifth of us have given up, whilst the rest last around 4-5 months then choose to stop!

Have you ever made a new year’s resolution for your business?

Having said all of that, have you ever made a new year’s resolution for your business? If not, why not? It’s a great way to kick start the year and motivate yourself to improve areas of the business that may have got staid or stuck in the business of everyday life, at work and indeed your personal life.

I start with 5 new year’s resolutions which can be labelled as ‘strategy goals’ but I prefer to call them my business New Year resolutions – focusing on driving my business forward.

So, what are my resolutions for 2025?

1: Post more on social media.

Plan to post something that’s colourful, that will resonate with your followers and potentially encourage the number of followers to increase and engage. Post videos or reels more often too, it can take time to do this, but really I must try harder! I plan to make a list each week of what can/could be interesting to share and to understand my audience.

I may not have time to post all on the list, but I plan to post as many as possible. I will measure my results and look at my analytics, so that if I am not convinced that what I am doing is increasing my business awareness, I will change course. A strong digital presence is more important than ever.
