About St Martin-in-the-Fields Church

St Martin-in-the-Fields church stands on the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square and is one of London's most recognizable landmarks. Designed by James Gibbs and completed in the 1720s, the church's combination of a classical temple-style portico and a tall steeple became a model for countless churches in Britain and North America. It is considered one of the most important examples of English Neoclassical church architecture. The church is renowned for its concert performances and its long-standing charitable work, particularly supporting homeless and vulnerable people in London.
