Becoming a Judge

To become a qualified UK floristry judge and member of the Judges Guild, you must first undertake a rigorous 18 month to two-year training programme and pass an examination as set by the UKFJG.

The training will cover aspects of floristry judging to enhance and develop floristry knowledge and judging skills.  There will be a focus on practical judging, understanding the judging facets and how to award marks.  The discipline of the competition room will be discussed, together with stewarding and schedule writing.  Giving commentary and feedback will also be practised.

Judges must also maintain their continuous professional development to remain a Guild member, attending at least one study day in a consecutive three-year period.
