Muscari featuring Floristry Tips from Su Whale

Lucky spring visitors to The Netherlands' Keukenhof Gardens are not just greeted by acres of glorious Tulips, interspersed between their banks of bright colours run rivers of blue created by thousands and thousands of flowering Muscari.

Grape Hyacinth, as it’s commonly known, is a diminutive flower with tiny florets, packed tightly together to form a compact cone of blue or occasionally white. It’s not dissimilar in shape to a Hyacinth, however the two are not related. Far sturdier than its delicate appearance would have you believe, as a cut flower it can be manipulated, wired and glued and is an excellent choice for floral jewellery.
