New Associate turns Purple

The hunt for new Associates at Purple Spotted Media continues and we’re delighted to announce the appointment of our second new team member.

Because hot on the heels of James Crompton - who has joined as one of our Features Writers - we welcome Scottish based Oonagh Staerck who joins the Purple Spotted crew with specific responsibility for our Good Florist Guide activities.

As part of her role Oonagh is currently building a new GFG website that will be faster, slicker and oh so more gorgeous. In addition, she’ll be taking over the day-to-day management of the brand and making sure members not only get the very best service but oodles of help and ideas on how to make their businesses stronger.

For not only is Oonagh a gifted graphic designer but understands both the brand and the industry. Her sister Emma McDonald, who died at just 29 and is the inspiration behind our 30 Under 30 Awards, was not only a brilliant florist in both design and business terms but a member of Good Florist Guide as well.

Which means that Oonagh not only brings her own fabulous skill base to the company (we reckon she’ll get the boss knocked into shape in no time!!) but understands first-hand the industry and the goal of the company; indeed is already coming up with ideas and plans to make GFG and The Florist Magazine even better.

“Emma and I often talked about working together to deliver practical and innovative ideas to help florists. When I saw the PSM advert for Associates, I knew it was the perfect job. By joining the team at Purple Spotted and working with a go-ahead and ideas driven company I’ll be able to put many of our ideas into practice and help make a difference.”

Commenting on the appointment brand owner, Caroline Marshall-Foster, said “I started out looking for someone to work in the office but when I started chatting with Oonagh it just felt right. All the elements are perfect, and I am so excited. Expanding with younger, but totally focussed team members will help us build on all the strengths and history of the company whilst making sure it is both fit for purpose and appeals to the next generation, so we help everyone achieve their goals.
