The Sussex Flower School is one of only a handful of professional flower schools outside London and leads the way with interesting and relevant courses. Owner Georgia is highly qualified (Level 4 – The Higher Diploma in Floristry) and has taught for many years. Choose from one of the school’s many and varied day courses or create your own bespoke course to suit your individual needs. You could decide on a one-off day course, full retraining, a one to one session to polish your skills (or tackle a difficult design) or just a get together with your friends….you decide what suits you best. The School also offer ongoing mentoring and business support, with the aim to provide you with exactly the training you require in a cost effective and targeted manner.
You’ll find expert tuition, lovely rural surroundings, easy parking and a warm, encouraging and friendly welcome. All courses are held in a light and airy, converted barn on the outskirts of Blackboys, near Uckfield. You don’t need to bring anything with you at all except maybe a camera – The Sussex Flower School provides all the tools, flowers and anything else you may need on the day.
Georgia Miles
Georgia Miles is the founder of The Sussex Flower School. Her background is eclectic, from a degree in Art History from Edinburgh University to the Higher Diploma in Floristry via massage and aromatherapy, teacher training, a lot of travel, yoga, three children and a passion for gardening.
Georgia ran her own successful wedding floristry business for several years before concentrating on teaching. She is a specialist in historical floral design and has also taught on the National Certificate Levels 2, 3 and 4- The Higher Diploma in Floristry – at Plumpton College in East Sussex.
Georgia's vision is simple, make floral design accessible to everybody whatever their skills, background or motivation. The Sussex Flower School was set up in 2010 to provide an alternative method of learning that could be more personal and targeted than many college programmes.
