Why the Skill of Flower Buying is so Important
In one of the Facebook groups that I run, a question came up about not getting the right flowers to do the job. Now, I don’t mean that the wholesaler had sent the wrong item, rather that the item that was received was not the best item for the job the florist had to do.
In the many years that I have been a florist, the way we buy flowers has changed. Gone are the flying Dutch lorries and the small local wholesalers and in their place are an array of Dutch web shops where you can buy from stock, Dutch stock, pre order and direct from growers. Its no wonder that it can seem daunting and difficult to discover what the best stock item for the job is.
