Inspiration from Lena Hartmann & Masterpieces x Florieren

Based on the motto “Enjoying life,” florist Lena Hartman created two designs. Flowers accompany people through every stage of life: from birth to farewell. Florists shape these moments with their creativity, craftsmanship and sense of atmosphere. Lena interprets this theme in her own unique way.

Midsummer creation

Light, natural and relaxed: for this floral arrangement, Lena was inspired by a midsummer celebration in the garden. As a base, she used a tree trunk with drilled holes for transparent test tubes. This allows the flowers to take centre stage and creates an airy, playful composition.

She combines daisies and lady’s mantle (alchemilla) with airy grasses and dried seed heads of wild carrot (daucus). The result is a summery creation with a meadow-like appearance.

How to:

  • Drill holes in a tree trunk the size of a test tube.

  • Insert the test tubes and fill them with water.

  • Then place one flower in each test tube.

  • Play with different heights, textures and flower shapes for a natural and airy effect.

Bridal bouquet

In Lena’s bridal bouquet, the influence of Gregor Lersch, with whom she trained, is clearly visible. Yet Lena consciously chooses her own style.

“I know this bridal bouquet does not follow the current trend, where bouquets are often loosely, airily and freely arranged,” she says. “But I actually love the reduced form and movement.”

The choice of flowers is unusual too. No classic bridal flowers, but exotic flowers and succulents. This allowed her to create a bridal bouquet that is surprising and entirely in her own style.

How to:

  • Cut a round shape out of cardboard and also cut a round opening in the centre, through which the flowers can later be inserted.

  • Attach the base at three points with wire and wrap it securely.

  • Cut strips from dried leaves and attach them to the base with a glue gun. Leaves that are too long can be carefully shortened with scissors.

  • Wire the flowers that can do without water and insert them radially into your bridal bouquet.
