St Patrick’s Day - The Power of Green

Individual and business membership logos

St Patrick’s Day, 17th March is a joyous celebration of Irish culture, not just in Ireland itself but across the globe, with music, dancing and of course the wearing of Ireland’s national flower, the shamrock.

Shamrock

What is shamrock?

Small, delicate and emerald green, Shamrock is a type of clover and is linked with Ireland’s patron saint, who used the three leaves to represent the Holy Trinity of faith, hope and love. There is actually no true shamrock in the botanical sense, but the favourite candidate is Trifolium dubium, ‘Lesser Trefoil’ or in Old Irish ‘Seamrog’ meaning ‘little clover.’
