What is British Flowers Week?
BFW is a celebration of the UK’s cut flower industry. Since its launch in 2013 by New Covent Garden Flower Market, it has grown in size and impact as consumers become more aware of the origins and sustainability of flowers. In 2024, Flowers from the Farm, a professional trade organisation for over 1000 independent growers, took over running this annual event.
With the UK cut flower business taking just 14% of the cut flower market, BFW’s aim is to increase visibility for British grown, champion the sustainability of locally sourced flowers and put the focus on how much this expanding industry is contributing to revolutionising our flower buying.
And it’s not just growers that are encouraged to get involved. Flowers from the Farm are asking anyone who wholesales, retails or simply loves to fly the flag for British grown to become part of the campaign.
