Preview: RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025 Showground Exhibits

New for 2025 are two stand-out exhibits not to be missed.

Farewell Flowers

For the first time at Chelsea there will be a display of funeral designs in the Great Pavillion, courtesy of Farewell Flowers. Featuring exclusively British grown blooms they guarantee that it will be entirely free of floral foam and single use plastic. Their aim is to prove that you don’t have to sacrifice beauty for sustainability and how fresh, natural, seasonal materials can be resonant with meaning.

‘We want our display to inspire and spark conversations about what sustainable funeral flowers can be. We think the RHS Chelsea Flower show is the perfect stage on which to demonstrate that funeral flowers don’t need to stay hidden in the shadows, but should be celebrated and enjoyed for their beauty beyond their primary purpose’

The display is centred around a churchyard scene which will feature a range of compostable designs, from flower-filled boots to shareable casket sprays and naturally woven wreaths. The tributes will be put together by British flower growers from Flowers from the Farm.

The Glass House

In 2024 the Glasshouse, an initiative set up to provide horticultural training to women in prison, won a well deserved gold medal for their exhibit in the Houseplant Studios. This year they are back with their first show garden, its focus a pavilion set within a garden, its planting inspired by conversations that garden designer, Jo Thompson, had with some of the inmates involved with the project.

‘I want the garden to stop people in their tracks, so that the more they look the more they learn. A place to reflect, plan and be around a little bit of beauty.’

After the show, the garden will be relocated to a woman’s prison in southern England.

And speaking of Houseplant Studios…

Housed in stylish summerhouses in the leafy surrounds of Chelsea’s Ranelagh Gardens the Houseplant Studios are now a permanent fixture at Chelsea.

This is the place to be inspired by interiors that have houseplants at their heart, and it’s not just about the plants, there is education and sustainability too. Expect quirky, fun, innovation and plenty of ideas to take home for the indoor plant enthusiast.
