Late summer/early autumn is the perfect time for harvesting flowers for drying. The easiest method is to air dry, and this can be done in the shop or at home.
How to Choose Flowers to Air Dry
It’s important to select flowers which are just coming into their prime, they need to be good quality and not over mature, else they will fall apart. If you intend to dry in bulk from your flower stock, put the chosen flowers to one side as soon as they arrive, don’t leave it as an afterthought.
What Equipment do you Need for Air Drying?
It’s a very simple process, so all you need is sharp scissors or secateurs, a ball of string and some elastic bands.
